Craft Lab Family Workshop Featured in the LA Times

Craft Contemporary museum hosts monthly intergenerational Craft Lab Family Workshops. On September 10, 2023 I lead a project inspired by the ceramics biennial exhibition Wayfinding. Participants joined me to create sculptures using the abstract shapes and colors found in coral reefs. The program was inspired by the work of exhibiting artist Courtney Mattison who uses ceramics to visualize climate change through the fragile beauty of marine life. Families built a tin foil armature which they covered in plaster cloth and painted their work with ocean-like colors and textures. Check out the feature in the LA times here.
