MESC: Craft To Change the World, School Programs at Craft Contemporary

On Thursday, November 30, 2023 Billie Rae Vinson, Director of School and Family Programs at Craft Contemporary partered with the Museum Educators of Southern California (MESC) to provide a professional development workshop including a mock school tour, gallery activities and a crafting experience for museum educators. Participants explored the ways that artists Carolyn Castaño and Linda Sibio use their art to speak out about social and environmental issues that are important to them. In the workshop, attendees created appliqued protest banners, discussed teaching strategies, and shared ideas about how to engage students with museum exhibitions and works on view.
