Billie Rae Vinson is an art educator, museum professional, and leader currently living and working in Los Angeles. With over ten years of experience in the Museum Education field, she has gained expertise and developed a skill set that reflects her passion for art, artists, and creative learning strategies. Billie is currently the Director of Learning and Engagement at the Orange County Museum of Art. She also currently holds the position of Treasure on the Museum Educators of Southern California (MESC) Board of Directors. Previously she was the Director of Education at Craft Contemporary museum where she developed programs for schools, teens and families for three years. She has also worked with a number of educational organizations in LA, including LACMA, P.S. ARTS, LAMusArt and Art Muse, to provide workshops, events, and classes for communities across the city. She was previously the Senior Coordinator of Family Programs at the Whitney Museum of American Art for over six years. There, she managed all aspects of family programming at the museum, designed tours, workshops, interpretive materials, large-scale events, and hands-on art-making programs for a wide range of audiences. She has an MA in Critical Writing and Curatorial Practice from Chelsea College of Art and Design in London and an undergraduate degree in Fine Art. Billie was a Brooklyn Museum Education Fellow before joining the Whitney in 2012. Prior to moving to New York in 2011, she lived in London and worked as a freelancer at the Tate Britain in adult, teen, family, and school programs.
